When did you start coming to CoreFit?
In 2011, back before there was a CoreFit. OG Salquist trainees represent!
Why did you start coming to CoreFit?
I had serious back issues and was generally unhappy with how out of shape I was. I used to work for a forestry company in the summers and was in pretty good shape. Post college desk jobs ruined me for a while.
Who is your greatest fitspiration and why?
I’d have to go with Richard Simmons. I don’t think I need to say why. It’s obvious.
What is your next fitness goal?
Finish the Spartan Beast! I’ve done the Sprint twice and a super. I would like to complete a trifecta in either 2017, 2018, or both.
Favorite workout song?
“Don’t Stop Me Now” by Queen. Actually, just put Queen’s greatest hits on loop at the gym and I’m happy.
When you are in the heat of the workout and feel like quitting, you think…
What would Richard Simmons do?
What has been your biggest accomplishment at CoreFit so far?
It’s completely changed my lifestyle. I am trying to eat healthier and drink less beer in order to make progress with my workouts. I never thought I’d be a gym rat.
What is your biggest dietary weakness?
Favorite part about CoreFit?
It’s relaxed. Not too many dude-bros grunting, groaning and generally being obnoxious. I feel like everyone knows each other well and encourages one another. I’ve made some friends at this gym. Great people.
If you could sit down to lunch with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would you choose to have lunch with and why?
Richard Simmons. These questions are repetitive. 😊
How has coming to CoreFit influenced the rest of your life?
What is a motto or saying that you live your life by?
“What would Richard Simmons do?”
What are your main hobbies outside of CoreFit?
Camping, hiking, comic books and all things related to comic books, political activism
Favorite workout/exercise? Least favorite?
Power cleans are my favorite. Burpees? Not so much.
If you could have all the money in the world, how would you spend your days?
With Richard Simmons as my personal trainer. (No offense Kurt, Therese, et al.)
Wisconsinburger. Go there. You’ll know why.
What has been your top memory at CoreFit to date?
Finishing the Montana Spartan Sprint back in 2015. That was a great day.
