When did you start coming to CoreFit? I believe either 2010, 2011
Why did you start coming to CoreFit? Like everyone else I came to CoreFit because of Cindi. She kept urging me to come work out and said I was beginning to look frumpy on the backside
Who is your greatest fitspiration and why? Honestly my biggest incentive for working out are the patients I see in the hospital that are my age and are plagued with many co morbidities for illness. I feel if I can stay in some sort of shape that can cut out some of these factors for illness then at least I’ve attempted to live a healthier live.
What is your next fitness goal? I’m actually trying to get to the gym at least 4 days a week, improve my strength and endurance and loose some lbs. Possibly tackle this thing called running 🏃🏻
Favorite workout song? I love anything that will distract me gently. No rap though!
When you are in the heat of the workout and feel like quitting, you think…just keep on going. It will be over soon! Keep on swimmin!
What has been your biggest accomplishment at CoreFit so far? I think it was 2 years ago at the Fitness games. My first one ever, and I was very anxious to participate as a team member because as I don’t consider myself an athlete, I didn’t want to let my team down. I believe we came in last but I got through it with much encouragement from all the team and others. I did feel as I accomplished something I never thought I could.
What is your biggest dietary weakness? Chocolate, bread, cookies. I’m fine if I don’t get started but if I do…
Favorite part about CoreFit? I love that everyone is so positive and encouraging. This last year I’ve been in a funk and really wasn’t coming as often as I should but seeing how everyone has their own issues and continue to power through, that gives me incentive to push through.
If you could sit down to lunch with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would you choose to have lunch with and why? I lost my brother in law 24 years ago. We had a great relationship and he was like my little brother! I would want to find out what kind of a man he turned out to be, what he was up to. He was a prankster and fun loving. He was quite the cook so he would be fixing us up a fantastic lunch.
How has coming to CoreFit influenced the rest of your life? I am just a healthier person all around. My lab work proves that! I’m stronger. I make better food choices and I am always trying to be conscious of what I eat and drink. Although I do love a good gin and tonic! i try to live healthier.
What is a motto or saying that you live your life by? Just do it!!!
What are your main hobbies outside of CoreFit? Gardening, yard work, spending time with my family, traveling.
Favorite workout/exercise? Least favorite? I like rowing, boxing. Least favorite is probably cleans because I am no good at it!
If you could have all the money in the world, how would you spend your days? Trying to ease others financial burdens after I take care of a few of my own
Favorite Restaurant? Love to try all kinds!!
What has been your top memory at CoreFit to date? Too many to name but enjoyed, even though it was torture, the stairs at the Paulsen building. Socially, everyone getting together at the Priest Lake campout.
