CoreFit Member Highlight: Kimberly Devereaux

When did you start coming to CoreFit?  September/October 2016

Why did you start coming to CoreFit? To get ready for the Seattle Super that I had blindly signed up for with a friend because another friend said, “i think you’ll like it!”
Who is your greatest fitspiration and why? Oh, my goodness! There are so many….mostly within the CoreFit gym….Tanis just keeps going and going and going….Chelsea shows up no matter the time and often more than once a day….Darren keeps me motivated with  ‘barking’ motivation…the list goes on!

What is your next fitness goal? To be able to do a ‘real’ pull up, master the rig and the monkey bars using the chains, baseballs, and other grippers.

Favorite workout song? Something ‘old school’ (jessie’s girl is an example) ‘cuz that’s my era

When you are in the heat of the workout and feel like quitting, you think… ‘Don’t let Echo beat you’ (she usually does any way)

What has been your biggest accomplishment at CoreFit so far? One rep max of 200 lb. deadlift (I think) or FINALLY climbing the rope

 What is your biggest dietary weakness? Coke (as in Coca-Cola) or anything chocolate, caramel, sweet

Favorite part about CoreFit? The community of people who belong there….AND the fact that they kept/added the 5 a.m. class!!!

If you could sit down to lunch with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would you choose to have lunch with and why? I honestly don’t know…..a small group of my most favorite friends (the people i ADORE) but it would work best if it was one at time, uninterrupted….

How has coming to CoreFit influenced the rest of your life? Most days I leave the gym feeling stronger, pleased that my workout is done and I have the whole day ahead of me. (Read that as BADASS! ????)

What is a motto or saying that you live your life by? My race, my pace…..(even if it feels like turtle speed) #icandohardthings #iamstrong #iamatrailrunner

What are your main hobbies outside of CoreFit? I like to trail run (did i really just say that?), hang with my friends, kayak, scrapbooking

Favorite workout/exercise? Least favorite? I love boxing even though it challenges my motor planning, anything cardio, obstacles….least favorite? I’m not sure i have one I ABSOLUTELY detest…..

If you could have all the money in the world, how would you spend your days? buying a coffee every day, living somewhere sunny but not overly hot, reading, training and the list goes on….

Favorite Restaurant? Spaghetti Factory (sad but true)

What has been your top memory at CoreFit to date? 1) Monica almost killing me with a 45 lb. bar because she took all of the weight off one end so it was unevenly distributed. I was totally clueless as the bar just missed hitting me. 2) Drawing blood at the Boise Sprint attempting the twister (Gross, I know but I felt like a total bad ass….I felt like I had finally earned my Spartan title even though I opted to skip the rope climb due to the dribbling blood.)
