When did you start coming to CoreFit?
Why did you start coming to CoreFit?
Blair (my husband) got a tax return and said I had to. He had been going for years and wanted to workout with me. He wasn’t really interested in running for hours on end.
Who is your greatest fitspiration and why? Jessie Graff. Aylssa Hawley. Rose Wetzel. These ladies are kicking bum in the Ninja Warrior and Spartan world. They are being an awesome example for millions of women that it’s more than okay to be strong and fit at any stage of life.
What is your next fitness goal?
Missoula Marathon. Oh yeah and muscle ups.
Favorite workout song?
I trained for my last half marathon listening to the album, Heist by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. The first song on the album talks about taking ten thousand hours to master your craft. It kept me going when running for hours at a time.
When you are in the heat of the workout and feel like quitting, you think…
I haven’t passed out yet. J If you want to see results you must work hard. Stop being lazy. And Maybe sometimes a bit of competition with those around me.
What has been your biggest accomplishment at CoreFit so far?
Surpassing all my PRs from high school. Climbing the rope. The monkey bars when my hands were wet and muddy during a Spartan race.
What is your biggest dietary weakness?
Favorite part about CoreFit?
The camaraderie. Those relationships have helped me create and obtain goals inside and outside of the gym.
If you could sit down to lunch with anyone in the world, dead or alive, who would you choose to have lunch with and why?
Keith Haring. He was a Pop artist in New York city in the 80’s. His art responded to NYC street culture by expressing concepts of birth, death, sexuality, and war with bold colors and designs.
How has coming to CoreFit influenced the rest of your life?
I keep saying Yes to things that scare me like running a marathon or showing my art.
What is a motto or saying that you live your life by?
“There’s only us, There’s only this, Forget regret, Or life is yours to miss, No other road, No other way, No day but today” This verse from the musical Rent always helps me when I’m depressed or just being lazy or shy to break out and live my best life possible.
What are your main hobbies outside of CoreFit?
Creating art. Come see my art show in November at South Perry Pizza.
Reading graphic novels. My favorite is Ms. Marvel right now.
Favorite workout/exercise? Least favorite?
My favorite workout/exercise is any type of Tiabata.
My least favorite right now because my hip is not being nice to me, is wall balls. I do not think their is anything that I hate. There are just exercises that are more challenging.
If you could have all the money in the world, how would you spend your days? Traveling. Meeting new people and telling stories through writing and art.
Favorite Restaurant? Viet Dong – Pho.
What has been your top memory at CoreFit to date?
There are so many top memories that I can’t just pick one.
· The first Spartan race our gym did together in Montana two years ago. It really showed the family like community that have become. We weren’t willing to leave anyone behind. Oh, yeah and laughed a lot.
· Lifting with Jedi to fill up the bar and PR’d my deadlift by 50lbs.
· Climbing the rope, when my husband couldn’t, in a partner WOD so my partner and I didn’t have to do burpees.
